Findri is one of the two surviving High Ones of our Holt.
She was one of the Elves favoring to go deeper into hiding. Not because of the threat of humans, she never witnessed the slaughter of her kin because that happend after the second crash, but because she affiliates more to the greengrowings, the closeness of the forest.
After leading half the tribe to deeper into the forest and making sure they would be safe, Findri started to disappear more often again (she did this after her son took over leadership in the original tribe), she would meditate more and more to a point that she would do so for years in a row. She nurishes her body by transforming it into the greengrowings she lves so much.
To keep her safe, Theoree asked her, after her third dissapearence, to not just wander off, but find her a place where her tribe would know no predators would find her.
This was found in a giant cave in which one of their tribemembers had fallen to his death. In her grief, Findri wanted to stay close to the spirit of the deceased, from who she believed still lived inside the cave.
Description:
(pictures above are of the Son Doong Cave in Vietnam)
This cave is actually a giant hole in the ground with three tunnels, one leasing outside, another to an underground river and the third to an unknown place.
The opening in the ceiling of the cave is very large (20mtrs in diameter/600 square feet), big enough to let the sun warm the cave for most of the day.
On the bottom of the cave trees and plants grow (the main area is 50mtrs In diameter/1500 square feet), giant rocks, which were once part of the ceiling, now create playful differences in height and provide shelter for birds and other small animals.
This is a place where hunting by Elves is forbidden!
Fresh water is provided through rain falling from the edges of the hole in the ceiling (ground) and thus creating a freshwater pool from which a small creek flows when the pool gets full, but even when it is the Dryseason water sips down the many vines and roots hanging from the hole.
The creek flows through a tunnel to a large underwater river. When almost dry this tunnel is not higher then 8ft/1.5mtr and 6ft/1.8mtr wide.
The ground is covered by many fallen rocks, which makes it an interesting climb when you follow the small creek.
Another tunnel is used as an entry. The height varies from 5ft/1.5mtr to as high as 10ft/3mtr. From the entry to Findri's home might be around 100ft/30mtr.
The way to Findri's home is made extra difficult by strangleweed, thorny bushes and poisonous plants, this is to keep unwanted visitors out.
The last tunnel leads to a place only Findri knows (and maybe a few chosen ones, tba).
The tunnels aren't the only way to enter the cave, through the hole in the ceiling you can climb the wall or use a vine to lower yourself.
Findri doesn't have a main sleeping area, she usually becomes one with her surroundings as a tree, part of a rock or just sleeps in the moss.
When others visite her, they often need to search for her and may leave without finding her. But when needed Findri always reveals herself.
